Legio X Equestris (Tenth Mounted Legion) was the first legion raised by Julius Caesar in 61 BC when he was the governor of Hispania Ulterior.

It became his most trusted legion and was involved in Caesar's conquest of Gaul, his first invasion of Britain and Caesar's Civil War.

It gained the name "Equestris" when he attended a parley with the German King Ariovistus in 58 BC. Caesar did not trust his normal cavalry who were Gallic auxiliaries so he mounted some of his trusted legionaries as his escort.
